The Art of Persuasion–Persuasive Techniques That Work

It has been said by powerful persuasion circles that the biggest enemy to effective persuasive techniques is the counterfeit techniques that conceal the real ones. Almost everybody who is interested in learning The Art of Persuasion and the persuasive techniques that the art consist of have not gotten the results they were promised.

The underlying cause for all the counterfeit doctrines in The Art of Persuasion is because many so called persuasion gurus are telling everybody that you must master hypnotic language patterns in order to be successful. This is not only an erroneous belief but an ironic one because hypnotic language patterns were only developed within the last century. The art of persuasion, on the other hand, is thousands of years old and has been used as a vehicle to influence people since the history of man began.

True persuasive techniques are strategic and not linguistic. Therefore, the key to being able to employ strategic persuasive techniques is to learn the proper ingredients that must be mixed together in order to successfully persuade people’s behavior. In order to influence other people, there needs to be several components involved in the persuasion formula in order for it to work and give you the things you want.

So then, this concept of looking to fields like NLP or Ericksonian hypnosis to discover secrets that we can apply to the art of persuasion is erroneous. In fact, if a persuasion artist were to try to employ hypnotic language patters to persuade someone, they would not only most likely not succeed, they would also take the risk of making the situation of poorer quality instead of making it better. This is true because hypnotic language patterns were not developed to persuade people outside of clinical settings.

You can’t employ the persuasion techniques and the tools of hypnotic therapy and completely rely on them to be effective persuasive techniques in the art of persuasion. Perhaps the best way to confirm this claim for yourself is to simply try hypnotic language patterns out for yourself. You will quickly realize that they don’t work.

The Art of Persuasion is an entirely different theory than a simple hypnotic language pattern.
